As a company, we're committed to building homes that are as healthy as possible, and that minimize their "ecological footprint" with respect to the resources they use for their construction, operation and eventual decommission. Homes built using traditional stick methods can be very unhealthy and extremely resource intensive. In contrast, our homes use sustainable, healthier building materials, as well as energy-efficient environmental systems and products. You can appreciate your Forest Stewardship Council-certified cedar ceilings without worrying that the stain you chose is off-gassing harmful VOC's (volatile organic compounds) that might otherwise disturb your lungs or afternoon Darjeeling tea.
Combining healthy materials and efficient systems with our resource-saving, modular fabrication process, our LivingHomes contribute to cleaner air, water, and soil. Both your home and your community become better places for people to live, learn, work and play.
It's important to us that you understand the performance and impact of our homes, so we've introduced a "Sustainability Scorecard" for each of our models.

The first 2500 square foot LivingHome generated more than 22,000 pounds LESS waste during construction than a similar sized traditional "stick built" house. That's the equivalent of more than five, classic 1969 Airstream trailers (unloaded). And 60% of the first LivingHome waste was recycled — the equivalent of 2 Mini Coopers. Motor on!
